Introduction

The "Belgisch Forum voor Plasmawetenschappen - Forum Belge pour la Science des Plasmas" is a factual organisation intending to be a forum for the Belgian research activities in the field of Plasma Physics and Chemistry.

The BFPW-FBSP aims at :

The enhancement of the quality of scientific education and research in fundamental and applied aspects of plasma physics and chemistry
A possible co-ordination of scientific research in the field of plasma science and co-operation with respect to the curricula, quality assessment, execution of research programs and -projects and the use of infrastructure
The teaching, supervision and assessment of research assistants who are working at the universities within the co-operation
The joint organisation of courses, seminars, colloquia, lectures, publications, conferences and other media which may serve the realisation of the objective

Participants

The BFPW-FBSP was founded on June 25, 1997 by representatives from Research Institutions or Groups belonging to BIRA/IASB, KMS/ERM, KUL, LUC, UCL, UG, UIA, ULB, UMH, and VITO, who decided to organise three working groups:

Space Plasmas
Hot Plasmas
Cold Plasmas

Other groups or individuals are invited to join the Forum by making their intention known to one of the spokespersons or to the secretary
